Aspartes’ lead drug candidate, flunarizine (ASP-001), is being developed for the treatment of alternating hemiplegia of childhood (AHC), a rare and severe neurological disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of hemiplegia and other paroxysmal neurological symptoms. ASP-001 is a novel pediatric orally disintegrating tablet formulation of flunarizine, a therapy with longstanding clinical use in AHC but no FDA-approved formulation in the United States. Our initial focus is on advancing ASP-001 through clinical development and regulatory approval for AHC, while building a broader development strategy around promising therapies for serious pediatric and rare neurological diseases supported by meaningful clinical experience and strong scientific rationale.
